How to export your holdings from Questrade, Wealthsimple, and IBKR
Step-by-step instructions to get your CSV from the most popular Canadian brokerages.
Questrade
Log in to your Questrade account and navigate to Accounts โ Holdings. In the top-right corner of the holdings table, click the Export or download icon and select CSV. The file will include your ticker symbols, quantities, book values, and current market values.
Rename the columns to match the Wealth Rebalancer format: ticker, current_value, and optionally shares, currency, and sector. TSX tickers will appear with a .TO suffix โ keep those as-is.
Wealthsimple
In the Wealthsimple app or web platform, go to Activity โ Export and download the CSV. Note that Wealthsimple's export format includes transaction history rather than a snapshot of current holdings, so you may need to calculate current quantities manually or use their holdings view to note values before exporting.
Alternatively, take a screenshot of your holdings and manually enter the ticker and current value for each position โ for most portfolios, this takes under 5 minutes.
Interactive Brokers (IBKR)
In IBKR's Client Portal, go to Performance & Reports โ Statements. Choose Activity Statement, set the date range to today, and select CSV format. The export will include your open positions with quantities and market values.
IBKR uses standard ticker formats โ US tickers need no suffix, TSX tickers should have .TO appended if not already present.
Other brokerages
Most Canadian brokerages (TD Direct Investing, Scotia iTRADE, BMO InvestorLine, RBC Direct Investing) offer a holdings export under their account or portfolio section. Look for a download or export button on your holdings page. If the export includes ticker symbols and current values, it will work with Wealth Rebalancer after minor column renaming.
